List your home for free. Every home on wfh. is verified in person first.

Work From Hills, or wfh., lists homes and rooms in the mountains for people who work remotely and stay by the week or the month.

Our customers book for weeks and months, and they rely on what the listing says. To keep that standard the same in every home, two members of our team stay for two nights before a home is listed. The partner hosts that stay, and wfh. provides a professional photo shoot in return, which the partner keeps.

What happens after you message us

  1. Step 1

    You message us

Tell us where the home is and whether it is the whole place or one room. Sarthak replies, usually the same day.

  2. Step 2

Two of us stay two nights

Two of us, on dates you pick. We work from the desk, run the speed tests, eat what you serve, sleep and photograph the place.

  3. Step 3

The home goes on the site

If it passes, we write the listing and publish it. Every booking request comes to you first, and you say yes or no.

What we check in those two days

Someone moving in for a month cannot find these things out from photos, so we find out for them by living in the home.

Internet
Speed tests on the wifi and on mobile data, run from the desk.
Working conditions
A full working day at the desk: the chair, the light, the noise and the sockets.
Power
What happens when the power goes, and how long the backup holds.
Food
If you serve meals, we eat what your customers would. Home-cooked is what we hope for.
Cleanliness
The room, bathroom, bedding and kitchen, as a customer would find them.
Safety
The locks, the walk back after dark, and how it feels for someone staying alone.

What you keep, in an example

You set your own prices; these are only examples. On a month booked at ₹28,000, you keep ₹25,200 and we take ₹2,800. On a week booked at ₹8,000, you keep ₹7,200. The 10% comes out of each weekly payment we make to you. There is no fee to join and no fee in a month without bookings. The full arrangement is in the partner terms.

Questions partners ask

Why do you need to stay before listing my home?

Because customers stay for weeks and cannot check the wifi, the power, the food or the safety of a place from photos. We check each of those ourselves, in every home, so the standard is the same everywhere on wfh. and a listing can be trusted.

Do you pay for the two nights?

No. Every home is verified in person before it is listed, so that customers can rely on what the page says. The partner hosts that stay free: two nights for two members of our team, with meals where the home serves them. In return, wfh. provides the professional photo shoot and the listing free.

Who comes, and do I need to feed you?

Two members of our team. If you serve meals to your customers, we ask to eat the same food, because it is one of the things they will want to know about. Home-cooked food is what we prefer. If the home has no kitchen or you do not serve food, no meals are needed.

When do you visit?

On any two days when the home has no bookings and our team is free. We agree the dates with you when we speak, so the visit never costs you a booking.

Who keeps the photos?

You do. Use them on Instagram, on your own website and on any other platform you list on. They stay yours even if the home does not go on wfh.

What if my home is not approved?

Then it does not go on the site, and you keep the photos. Nothing else is owed on either side.

Can I stay on Airbnb and other platforms?

Yes. We do not ask for exclusivity. List wherever you like and keep taking your own direct bookings.

Who sets the price, and who decides who stays?

You set the weekly and the monthly price. Every booking request comes to you before anything is confirmed, and you can say no.

When do you take the 10%?

From each payment we make to you. We collect the price of the stay from the customer and pay you your share, less 10%. There is no fee to join, no yearly fee and no charge when there are no bookings.

When do I get paid?

Week by week. We pay each week of a stay on its second day, counted from check-in. For a four-week stay that is day 2, day 9, day 16 and day 23. Meals outside the booking, laundry and other extras you collect from the customer yourself, and we take nothing on those.

What happens if a customer cancels?

A customer can cancel for a refund up to 14 days before move-in for a stay of one or two weeks, and up to 30 days before for a longer one. After that they lose up to the first 30 nights of the booking, and you receive that amount, less 10%, on the second day after the date they were due to arrive.

What if I have to cancel a booking?

Tell us at once, and we refund the customer or move them. You owe the 10% on that booking, because we lose it. Nothing is owed when the cause is outside your control: damage to the home, serious illness or a death in the family, a government order or a closed road.

How long do customers stay?

At least a week, and often a month or more. They are people who work remotely and want one place to settle into.
